PRACTICE UPDATE: I offer teletherapy services only and will not be returning to in- person appointments. My practice is currently full and I am not accepting new clients a time.
Making the decision to pursue therapy takes awareness, insight, and courage. Finding the right therapist requires a match between your needs and the therapist’s skills, as well as a personal connection that enables you to feel safe to explore the issues you bring into treatment.
As a licensed clinical psychologist, I am dedicated to working with individuals to cultivate personal growth and well-being. I work collaboratively with clients to create goals for treatment and a path to these goals. I use a variety of relational, insight-oriented, and evidence-based approaches, including acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), compassion focused therapy (CFT), cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT). Each client is unique, thus I tailor my approach to use the most effective strategies to best meet each client’s individual needs, strengths, and challenges. Areas of focus in therapy may include:
- Relationship Issues
- Life Transitions & Adjustment Difficulties
- Self-Compassion for Perfectionists and Self-Critical Individuals
- Low Self-Worth & Confidence
- Work & Career Issues
- Mindfulness Skills and Stress Reduction
- University Student Issues
- Recovery from Past Trauma
- Family Issues
- Women's Issues
- Self Exploration
I meet with individuals at a minimum of once per week. Sessions are typically 45 minutes in length and held at the same time each week. This consistency is intended to help us get to know each other and to have the opportunity to carefully explore and understand the concerns that brought you to therapy. Some individuals may benefit from meeting more than once per week.
When beginning therapy you can expect that the initial session will focus on establishing treatment goals and gathering a complete psychological history. Once I gain a better understanding of your needs, I will offer my recommendation of how we might proceed. This recommendation may include the frequency of sessions, as well as other treatments that may be helpful.
